WELCOME FROM THE SENIOR SECTION TO SEASON 2010/2011

Further to the welcome from the Football Club as a whole, the Senior Section extends its own welcome to
Season 2010/2011.

The First Team will be competing in Division 1 West of the Hellenic League whilst the Second Team will continue to compete in Division 2 (West) of the same League. It is expected that, as occurred not infrequently last season, heavy reliance will be placed upon many of the young players emerging from the Junior Section of the club.
Indeed, at a time when economic recession is likely to adversely affect the finances of most, if not all clubs at this level of football, our increasing reliance on ‘home grown’ players will undoubtedly be most helpful in more respects than one.
Having said that, there is little doubt that the coming season will prove to be a challenging one, both on and off the field of play.

                                                 Mark Boyland

After the retirement of Dave ‘Rizzy’ Risato, assistant manager Mark "Boylo" Boyland took the reigns of Manager in mid season and further accepted to continue in post for this coming season 2010/2011.
With Boylo having stepped up into first team manager post his previous position as Assistant is abley filled by Steve Prentice.

It is hoped that Mark will be able to build upon the firm foundations laid by his predecessors, chief of whom has been Ben Spiero who remains with the club as a director and will undoubtedly be of immense help to the First Team Manager and  new Assistant Manager Steve Prentice.

Layi Olubaji

Continuity at management level within the Senior Section is provided by Layi Olubaji  remaining in post as Manager  of our Second Team.
Layi and previous assistant manager Andy, now retired,  formed a most effective management team last season, their ever-willingness to liaise and co-operate with the First Team management was greatly appreciated by the Senior Section as a whole.

Continuity is provided also on our committee where Mike Barlow continues as Chairman and now Secretary to the club after the rietirement of  Garnet Thomas.
Also, whilst ‘Boylo’ provides local flavour as First Team Manager, further local input to the Section has been provided by the addition of Keith Willis, Kieth Wise and Colette Warner to the committee.

The club welcomes on board Neil Hobday as the new Match Secretary taking over from Geoff "Jessie" James

Though, as always, with your valued support and encouragement and that of our various sponsors,
we remain supremely confident.
